The MCP16701 integrates eight 1.5A step-down converters that can be connected in parallel, four internal 300mA LDO (Low Dropout) voltage regulators, and a driver for external MOSFETs.

This highly integrated device can reduce footprint by 48% with fewer than 60% of the components of a discrete solution. The MCP16701 is supplied in a small 8 mm × 8 mm VQFN package, providing a compact and flexible power supply solution for space-constrained applications. The MCP16701 meets a variety of power requirements and supports Microchip's PIC64-GX microprocessors and PolarFire® FPGAs thanks to its configurable feature set.

The MCP16701 incorporates an I2C communication interface to simplify and improve communication efficiency between the PMIC and other system components. The device operates in a temperature range of −40°C to +105°C to provide reliable performance under diverse environmental conditions.

A key feature of the MCP16701 is its ability to dynamically change the output voltage levels for all converters in 12.5 mV/25 mV increments. This maximum flexibility allows designers to precisely adjust the power supply to meet the specific requirements of each application, helping to improve the overall efficiency and performance of the system.
